Philosophy
Great drinks, a sweeping view, no fuss
Our philosophy
Effortlessly sophisticated, never formal
Market Bar is built on three things: great drinks, a view worth the stairs, and the sense of place that comes from sitting on a heritage balcony in the middle of Hội An.
The drinks are taken seriously, the setting is not. A fish bowl gin and tonic is made for a table to share as the light changes over the river. A martini is stirred properly and served without ceremony. Happy hour is every afternoon because the afternoon light is the point.
Warm, confident and social: a place to take in the view, settle into the moment, and enjoy the town from above.
Journey
How an evening goes
4pm
The bar opens and happy hour begins: fish bowls, gin infusions and the Vietnamese cocktails at the afternoon price, the market still busy below.
6pm
The sun drops behind the Cẩm Nam bridge and the river turns gold, then pink. The rail seats are the ones to have.
Later
Lanterns on, the Old Town lit up, cocktails and wine until eleven. Something to eat from the sister kitchen along the terrace.
The drinks
Gin, from the world and from here
Market Bar is known for its extensive selection of gin and tonics: from classics around the world to locally crafted Vietnamese gins and house-infused creations made with local fruits, herbs, spices and flowers. Explore the selection and find your perfect G&T.
The infusions steep phở spices, strawberry and basil, Vietnamese plum and sea salt, pistachio and fig, mangosteen and rose. The cocktails lean on Sapa apricot wine, Hội An chili, blood plum liquor and Đà Lạt passion fruit. Alongside them, a proper classics list, five signature martinis, wine by the glass and bottle, and Vietnamese craft beer and cider.
